Become a Local 236 Apprentice

Congratulations, you have just taken the first step towards beginning a rewarding career in the electrical construction industry as an IBEW electrician.  The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 236 and the Albany Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association are co-sponsors of the Tri-City JATC, the Capital Region organization that has been training men and women to become highly skilled Electricians since 1979.

The Tri-City JATC’s electrical apprenticeship program is a five year, earn while you learn program that combines classroom instruction with on-the-job training to train electricians that we here at the IBEW are proud to call our members.  There are many types of construction projects in our region and whether you are working in a school, in a hospital or in one of the “clean rooms” at one of the cutting edge facilities for the rapidly growing semiconductor industry, you will be receiving paid health benefits, a pension, and wages with guaranteed raises as you progress through the program.   To learn more about this opportunity and to apply online, please follow the link to the Tri-City JATC website:  http://www.tricityjatc.org/.
